Welcome
to our website.
The MBA is a very active organization and one of many in our
state that is governed by the Mississippi High School Activities
Association. The membership
is made up of instructors of band at all grade levels throughout the
state. The Mississippi
Bandmasters Association is involved in establishing guidelines for all
band events, and insuring that these guidelines are followed.
The Mississippi
Bandmasters Association helps to sponsor many events throughout the
year. The state convention
is held the second weekend of December each year in Biloxi.
This convention known as “State Band Clinic” is attended by
approximately four hundred band students, three hundred band directors
and many exhibitors, performing ensembles, clinicians, and sponsors.
Please
feel welcome to correspond with the MBA concerning any ideas or comments
you might have. It is our
sincere hope that we are progressing toward better music education in
our schools, and we welcome your input.
